ACCESS Helps Automotive OEMs Leverage Big Data

When it comes to “hot” vertical markets in M2M and the IoT (Internet of Things), the connected car is always among the first to be mentioned. This is because the pace of development is accelerating quickly as embedded and mobile solutions for safety, connectivity, and infotainment become more important to drivers and businesses.

As in-car infotainment systems in particular become increasingly important in the car buyers’ decisonmaking process, ACCESS, www.access-company.com, a global provider of advanced software technologies to the automotive, mobile, IoT (Internet of Things), and digital TV markets, wants to be at the forefront of innovation in the space. The software provider offers solutions enabling OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to aggregate and analyze connected-car data in a way that allows them to understand driver behavior and offer targeted services.

ACCESS recently announced its software solutions optimized for IVI (in-vehicle infotainment) now support core features of the W3C Vehicle Information APIs (application programming interfaces). The company says this will allow its solutions to offer better control of car connectivity, receive more actionable data, enable remote control of car applications, and facilitate the integration of BYOD (bring-your-own-device) strategies for in-car multimedia entertainment.

ACCESS solutions for the automotive industry include an HTML5 browser called NetFront Browser NX Automotive Profile v2.0, which features high stability on embedded platforms and has been optimized for the in-car environment; a DLNA Technology Component solution called NetFront Living Connect, which supports in-vehicle media sharing solutions; and ACCESS Twine, an end-to-end multiscreen solution that enables premium IVI services, including the ability to provide interactivity between car and home networks.

Designed to simplify the capture and reporting of data, ACCESS solutions are opening doors for OEMs (original-equipment manufacturers) to take advantage of cutting-edge smart features in vehicles while benefitting from the Big Data revolution.
