Carol Stream, Ill. – July 5, 2017 –  The accomplishments and contributions that women have made within the IoT (Internet of Things) community calls for a celebration, and the editors at Connected World magazine did just that at an awards dinner held at Carlucci’s in Rosemont on June 22.

The event, sponsored by MultiTech Systems, brought together women from all over the U.S. to honor them as winners of the 2017 Women of M2M awards. The annual awards program, now in its fifth year, recognizes women as trailblazers and innovators in the IoT enterprise.

The intimate gathering included a cocktail hour and dinner, followed by an awards presentation by the president of Specialty Publishing Co., and editorial director of Connected World magazine, Peggy Smedley. In addition, each of the women in attendance had a chance to speak on the work and experiences that have shaped their careers in the IoT community, as well as their hopes and aspirations for the future.

“All of these women continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the IoT and having an opportunities to bring them together for just one evening is truly special,” says Smedley. “Whether they are at the forefront of innovation or they are shaping the next generation of women, these powerful individuals inspire all of us to achieve the unthinkable while driving the industry forward.”
