The opportunities inherent in M2M and IoT (Internet of Things) have at times created a revolving door of companies as they come and go. MultiTech Systems is one company that has stood the test of time. Led by CEO Stefan Lindvall, the company is living out its 45-year-long legacy that began with the late Raghu Sharma, MultiTech’s founder, in 1970.

MultiTech’s legacy is heavy in R&D (research and development). With more than 80 U.S. patents and numerous international patents, the company’s R&D efforts have led to decades of innovation. The legacy also includes 45 years of commitment to quality and service excellence. The company’s seasoned engineering teams, combined with leadership that’s devoted to shoring up the company’s M2M/IoT business, ensure customers have found in MultiTech a partner that will be there for the life of their solutions.

The company has earned its CW100 spot this year in part by launching several new products, including MultiConnect Conduit, MultiConnect mDots, and MultiConnect mCards. The company also launched DeviceHQ, a cloud-based IoT application store that allows customers to deploy and scale pre-developed applications on their MultiConnect Conduit gateways, and then connect, monitor, and control numerous asset types. Leveraging drag-and-drop tools, DeviceHQ makes it simple for customers to create and manage applications for their in-field products.

These—along with other new products such as the MultiConnect rCell 500 series and the 4G LTE (long-term evolution) SocketModem Cell cellular modem, in addition to partnerships with companies such as Avnet, Aeris, and Future Electronics—will continue to expand the company’s product portfolio and market penetration. In the coming year, we expect to see MultiTech zero in on key verticals, deepen customer relationships, and pursue better integration with Connected Development, its wholly owned subsidiary, to deliver better support for customers at all levels of integration.

Key Takeaways:

  • 45-year legacy of R&D and innovation with more than 80 U.S. patents
  • Launched several new M2M/IoT products and solutions, including the MultiConnect Conduit gateway, DeviceHQ, and a 4G-LTE cellular modem
  • Opportunity lies in deepening customer relationships in key verticals and improving integration with Connected Development
