80%.
Gartner predicts organizations will develop 80% of generative AI business applications on their existing data management platforms by 2028.
This approach will reduce the complexity and time required to deliver these applications by 50%.
It is interesting because Nick van der Meulen, MIT CISR, says there are two types of generative AI.
First, generative AI tools like consumer AI, ChatGPT, etc., that focus generally on individual productivity and a broad array of applications. If you know how to prompt, it will help you. The challenge here is it is hard to translate those into top or bottomline value.
Second, generative AI solutions. The difference here is these are strategic and designed, engineered, and integrated with your data and with your systems to deliver on strategic objectives.
The former is the low-hanging fruit, but is the latter where the real value lies? How do we get there?
