Columbia, S.C. — April 9, 2024 — Research shows 93% of people acknowledge the future of work is facing remarkable transformation. To help conceptualize preferences and attitudes about the future of work, Specialty Publishing Media releases the report: Who Is the Worker of Tomorrow?

The detailed results from 4,004 respondents led to additional secondary research, which has mapped out what is truly on the minds of today’s workers.

“The findings from the survey point to economic future opportunities and consequences by the numbers,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Constructech and Connected World, and president of Specialty Publishing Media. “The report paves a path for a way forward in a labor and resource-constrained economy. With deeper insights, we can identify opportunities to align the workforce with the needs of tomorrow.”

With this data in hand, we can now better understand what is going on inside the minds of today’s workers. The research from respondents paints an elaborate picture of how workers view the market, unpacking key questions facing the workforce today.

The report breaks down the information by generation and from an overall business perspective. A portion of the report takes a deeper dive into the construction and manufacturing vertical markets. It tells a luminous story about what workers want and what businesses can expect because of emerging technology.

“The breadth and depth of the survey’s scope, and the conclusions drawn from the responses, make this report an essential tool with which today’s labor issues can be better understood and addressed,” says Tim Lindner, senior business consultant, Voxware, Inc.

Companies can not only learn from the report but can also make changes and take actions to improve their work environment.

“The data that in some cases only half of those surveyed would recommend the company they worked for is eye opening,” Brooke Banbury, high-tech executive, says. “The findings on the hiring process and that many thought the expectations and requirements were too high are useful for companies to assess. Companies can not only learn from the report but also make changes and take actions to improve their work environment!”
