BIM remains an important foundation, particularly for infrastructure, buildings, and rail. In many ways, rail represents a natural evolution because it combines long-life assets, operational complexity, and enormous volumes of engineering data. As the industry continues returning its focus to infrastructure lifecycle management, organizations have an opportunity to leverage decades of digital investments instead of beginning from scratch.
Affordable AI copilots, standardized protocols such as MCP, and modern digital twin strategies are lowering the barriers to entry. Organizations no longer need to pursue massive transformation projects before realizing value. They can begin with the data they already possess, connect it intelligently, and expand over time.
