    Success Stories: Cardboard’s Carbon Footprint

We all know cardboard has the potential to be dangerous to our environment, as it releases methane as it decomposes, contributing ultimately to global warming. At least that’s been the concern with so many deliveries and boxes ending up in landfills. The good news in this discussion is that many also know cardboard boxes can be recycled, with an impressive 96.5% rate of recycling.

Enter PACT (Packaging and Crafting Technologies), which has developed a specially designed, corrugated crate. The company’s patented process consists of cross-core lamination with triple-wall, double-wall, or fiber board to produce a superior corrugated container. In addition to the strength and durability, bins offer a variety of sizes that can safely transport anything from fine art and glass to motorcycles and furniture.

Here is how this can help:

    • Protect merchandise in the event of a tip over.
    • Eliminate dust throughout the supply chain.
    • Reduced shipping weight and pollution caused by transportation.

Additionally, it can also help with the constricted labor market. With companies looking to do more with less manpower, the corrugated crate’s fold-out process mitigates labor-intensive crate construction. Looking to the future, we will continue to see new uses for cardboard. There are many exciting advances focused on improving our world and this is simply one example. There will be new opportunities for better efficiency in the future.
